What was most successful about your capstone?
I feel like my technology part looked pretty good. When it all came together, my judge was impressed because it simplified a complex idea.
What could have made it better?
I feel that if we didn't have capstone at all, it would make it better :)
Write a story from your time at RCHS.
One time me and a couple of my friends were on our way to get food off campus. Then all of a sudden, my tire blows out. I tried slowly driving to the nearest gas station. Once we arrived, we realized we didn't have a jack to change the tire to the spare. So after a thousand calls to all of our friends, we finally got a hold of somebody. The only problem was, she didn't have a jack either. So she runs all over Kiowa trying to find someone with a jack. Once we finally found our "hero", he came and helped change the tire. After we were all done, a black guy came out of no where and asked for money. After we told him that we didn't have anything, he offered to give us a kiss for it. Then he tries kissing my friend and he quickly pushes him away. Then the black guy walks off. We try to see where he goes but we can't find him anyway. We finally realized that my friend just attracts guys.

Beginning to think about overall project
I'm not really sure what I want to use as my media. I think a website would be a good asset if I am able to pull it off. I am going to need 3D models as well (whether they are physical or on the computer I still don't know). A video would also be really good (this could be on my website)...and although my movie trailer is not informational, I believe it would be a good ice breaker for the judges. Although I know that this presentation is supposed to be serious, it is always good to start it off with a laugh (even if it is laughing at my lame video). I also feel like this is acceptable because I will have a ton of REAL info on my actual project that it will compensate for the humor of my trailer.
Now when it comes to a timeline.....I was thinking I could:
In February- Figure out what I want my project to consist of. Whether it is a website or video, I want to figure out how I want it to kind of be set up.
In March- Start working on my actual presentation. Have everything finished by the end of the month.
In April- Have my actual presentation down. Know everything and anything about how it all will run.

Critique over Home Page
Most people said that the colors needed to contrast more. I kind of changed the pollution smoke color at the top, but more changes can be made. Also, they said to differentiate the pages from each other by maybe making a little cloud behind each tab I am on or something.

If I had unlimited resources....
Pertaining to my project:
I would put my project into effect. I understand that generating enough electricity to separate water into it's elements would require a lot of resources, especially at such a grand scale. So I would set up tons of methods to obtain green electricity and use that to generate the electric flow I need.
Pertaining to my project with resources I already have:
Honestly, I probably would never be able to put my project into effect with what I have now. I may be able to show a model, or perhaps show the process of electrolysis, but it would most likely just be that.
Personal one:
I would make a playground for adults.

Worst/Best Websites
Worst Websites:
1. http://dokimos.org/ajff/
This website is bad because the background is constantly moving with rainbow colors. It is EXTREMELY distracting and kind of contradicts itself in a sense.
2. http://www.rentistoodamnhigh.org/
Not even sure what this website is about. Just a bunch of random vids and ads placed all over the place.
3. http://www.paperrad.org/
I'm not sure this website needs explaining. Its pretty much a bunch of nothing....

SOPA & PIPA
List 3 reasons why SOPA & PIPA would be very BAD?
1. If the government is given this power, it leads them to become even more corrupt.
2. They can limit the information given to people, which we all know knowledge is power.
3. Free speech will be taken away from people on the internet and we will all become ignorant from information that the government doesn't want us to know.

Poster/Website
How can you create a "feel" or visual theme that will be consistent through all aspects of your presentation?
Not sure if this is what you were looking for....but I could possibly use the "feel" that the pollution monster (or greenhouse gasses/pollution in general) have to the potential to be very dangerous. So I could make my theme almost feel alarming in a sense, causing the viewer to see that this problem has the potential to do some harm if we don't fix it soon.
Are there colors, fonts, layouts, photos, or ideas that will contribute to this?
I guess darkness at times will contribute to this. I want some parts of my project to almost be ominous and cheesy scary. I like the idea of keeping things open ended. For example, I would like to leave the viewer of my movie to see that the pollution monster always has the potential to "reform" in the future. So there really isn't a "happy ending" until changes are made. I was thinking of doing something to the effect of this.
What emotional tone will these elements create?
I believe these elements will just cause the viewer to think. Whatever I do, I am not trying to actually scare the viewer. I just want them to be aware and possibly change to help better the problem. So I guess a sense of uneasiness, because although it is cheesy, it has a little bit of fact to it as well.
(sorry if this wasn't what you were looking for)

The Attack of the.......Greenhouse gases movie trailer?
If my senior capstone project was put into the 3 act structure of a movie....I would set it up this way:
1. What would be established or introduced?
I would introduce my characters. Two girls are having another day at school, driving their cars and filling the air with pollution when..............the pollution monster (or possibly a pollution dinosaur) comes out. They have to find a way to get rid of him before he takes over the world.
2. What process would play itself out and how?
The girls would have to discover the origins of the pollution. When they figure out that a lot of what the world uses causes pollution to their environment, they vow to try and change this. They soon discover that the pollution monster is stronger than ever now!!! Its a fight to the death between the girls and pollution monster.
3. How would it conclude/resolve?
Once the battle finishes, the girls are victorious. They now understand the importance of keeping the environment clean. However, they also understand that they are a small piece of this world. Keeping this in their thoughts, they soon realize that the pollution monster has the potential to create itself once again if they don't help educate the world.

Presidents......what are those?
If Newt Gingrich is elected president, he has the potential to effect my project. He has been known to fight against the cap and trade policy, whose goals try to limit the amount of greenhouse gasses in the air. Since my project is dealing with limiting the amount greenhouse gasses, it would greatly hurt my idea if he was elected. So unless he has changed his stance over the election period (which isn't surprising for a presidential candidate), he could possibly go against my idea.

Blog Entry A
In my capstone project, I want to hopefully accomplish a new way to limit the amount of greenhouse gasses in the air (boring.....I know). Although this is a topic that is talked about waaay to much, I want to try and fix this problem. I believe it that this topic is an important issue because whether you believe in the whole global warming or not, everyone can agree that pollution is bad. Although my methods will not destroy all pollution, I hope to be a stepping stone for future generations.
When I attend my university, I want to pursue a degree in chemical engineering. Chemical engineers do everything, from helping the environment to bettering drugs for patients. That is how my capstone project is related to my major. I want to look at the "chemical" side of pollution and perhaps one day limiting it. Overall, if this project is realistic and can actually be made, I believe it could be a key turning point in our society. Not only would it help limit pollution, but as I said before, it could be used as a stepping stone for future generations to build upon. Also, just a quick fact, the Richland triple bottom line talks about the social, economic, and environmental aspects of the Richland society (just in case you wanted to know).
